M2 Plus Great simple spinner (July 10, 2014)

Had one of these spreaders for 2 seasons now after moving away from an amazone. In that time it has been faultless, twice the machine of the amazone imo. Its very well built, accurate, and so simple to configure/set up. With the weigh cell on board, it a set and forget operation, constantly re calibrating the flow factor itself as you drive. It also, unlike the competition, will count you down as the hopper empties down to the last few kgs of product. Whereas other manufacturers machines will stop measuring weight when the hopper gets under 100kgs. We have combined the spreader with the Patchwork blackbox advance gps auto on/off and VRT application, which has further simplified the operation! The Auto on/off is superb, controlling the spreader functions, including width related rate reduction when you wish not to apply to the full working width. This is particularly handy so as to avoid over-dosing crops which are in areas of shortwork. It takes any guess-work out of short-work, acccurarely measuring width. We are yet to see any striping of fields, anywhere, after 2 seasons of use, even after spreading in some 'marginal' conditions @ 24 meters. I would recommend a KRM to anyone, accurate machine with a straightforward simple user interface for the operator. Excellent!

Tucano 450-320 Tucano 440 / vario v600 header (March 08, 2014)

We had a tucano 440 for 3 seasons, it was a very good machine for us, clocking 600 hours pretty much trouble free.
Its a very simple conventional combine, with good output, simple drivelines, and nice to operate with features taken from the lexion.
In essence, the tucano is based on a mega chassis, with the grain tank and engine swapped around, and with new body work and cab bolted on. Its a proven design, and the tucano benefits from features such as laser pilot, 3d electric sieves, vario cutterbar, and the quantimeter yield monitoring.

Straw quality is excellent for baling, APS system is very kind on the straw as you would expect from a walker machine. When chopping, the straw is chopped fine and evenly distributed across the width.

Cab is large and roomy, good visibilty, and cebis screen displays all necessary information. Adjustments such as sieve openings, drum speed, fan speed, etc are all adjustable via cebis rotary dial as per lexion.

Our 440 coped well with the vario 6m header in all crop types, with the vario ensuring an even flow into the machine.
I havnt really any gripes for this machine, only comment would be that the unload speed could be faster (seems to take ages to unload grain tank).

All in all a good reliable conventional combine with some nice features from the lexion range but without the unnecessary complexity. Its not a lexion, but it doesnt pretend to be, and it doesnt come with the price tag either. Only sold ours as gone to the rotary version.

Tucano 480/470 Claas tucano 480 -V750 7.5 meter header (March 02, 2014)

Having ran the 480 for two seasons, we are fairly happy with the machine overall. Offering a hybrid thrashing system at a reasonable price.
It has plenty of power coming from its cat c9 lump, ive yet to bring it to its knees even when chopping wheat and unloading, there is plenty of power reserve.

Straw quality is pretty good in any cereal crop, with all of our straw going for use in a piggery with no complaints.

Vario header enables uniform feed into the machine in all crop types, although a little time consuming swapping to and from osr/cereals. Especially in a harvest like 2013 where we found ourselves jumping between crop types pretty much daily!

Cab is nicely laid out with plenty of room, nice environment to spend long days within, easy access to machine information and adjustments via cebis terminal. Very simple to operate and the all essential buttons are ergonomically positioned for the operator.

Active spreader seems to offer an even spread of chopped material over full cutterbar working width.

All in all a good, simple hybrid combine, with good output, fairly simple drive lines, and pretty affordable. Only gripes are that it seems be abit harsher on the grain than some other brands of combine (we find this with all claas machines). Always seems to be a compromise between cracked grain or a dirtier sample, no matter adjustments are made, its always abit of a juggle.
Other than this, its a good machine, coming into its own in damp conditions, and it hasnt needed a spanner to it in 500 hours, apart from routine maintenance which is easy and accessible.
