    Tucano 440 / vario v600 header

    REVIEW:

We had a tucano 440 for 3 seasons, it was a very good machine for us, clocking 600 hours pretty much trouble free.
Its a very simple conventional combine, with good output, simple drivelines, and nice to operate with features taken from the lexion.
In essence, the tucano is based on a mega chassis, with the grain tank and engine swapped around, and with new body work and cab bolted on. Its a proven design, and the tucano benefits from features such as laser pilot, 3d electric sieves, vario cutterbar, and the quantimeter yield monitoring.

Straw quality is excellent for baling, APS system is very kind on the straw as you would expect from a walker machine. When chopping, the straw is chopped fine and evenly distributed across the width.

Cab is large and roomy, good visibilty, and cebis screen displays all necessary information. Adjustments such as sieve openings, drum speed, fan speed, etc are all adjustable via cebis rotary dial as per lexion.

Our 440 coped well with the vario 6m header in all crop types, with the vario ensuring an even flow into the machine.
I havnt really any gripes for this machine, only comment would be that the unload speed could be faster (seems to take ages to unload grain tank).

All in all a good reliable conventional combine with some nice features from the lexion range but without the unnecessary complexity. Its not a lexion, but it doesnt pretend to be, and it doesnt come with the price tag either. Only sold ours as gone to the rotary version.
