      Good for Early Harvest

      REVIEW:

This variety is good for early harvest so we can use it pre-OSR. We drill it in the last week of August after harvesting vining peas. It doesn’t lodge as it has a short stiff straw and has good yield.

In a cold spring it does seem to lose tillers so you need to be mindful of that on the seed rate and add probably 20% extra over say Claire. We did see a bit of Fusarium in the wet weather in 2012.

Still the best at its main job

      REVIEW:

Been growing for a number of years now and still rate as one of the best varieties I have grown. Although looks poor on the Rec List with regard to yield still seems to be the only wheat that I have which is the best entry into rape but also works as an early driller. not the highest yielding now but helps me with all the other varieties.

      2nd wheat? Look no further

      REVIEW:

Good standing variety. When we used to grow this we, rarely needed to put on a PGR. Took up the 2nd wheat spot mostly because of its disease resistant against eyespot. Only poor on brown rust over all. Nice and early variety, so if you've got fields you like to get rape into early look no further. Good bold grain with plenty weight to it.

      Harvest 2013

      REVIEW:

Grafton is always our first cut Winter Wheat on our heavy soils - this year it appears to be as early or earlier than some Soisson that I am aware of on lighter ground near here. Yields slightly better than last year - but considering wet and cold we have had not surprised. Good coloured bold grain and bushel weight. Grown as a first and second wheat.
