Pro's
Pulls well and gets power to the ground exceptionally well
Acceptable fuel consumption
Cab is reasonably comfortable, and controls laid out well
Excellent narrow transport width down the road
Con's
Poor gearbox. Automatic mode doesn’t really work as it can’t react in time and just puts itself into neutral
Poor Auto Guide. Continually lost signal. Have put John Deere Starfire 2 on, and now works well
Lots of hydraulic hoses have rubbed and split, due to poor routing through the machine
Overall not a bad piece of equipment and is decent value for money.

JD 6R Series John Deere 6210R (2013) (February 03, 2014)
Good power level. Excellent E23 Direct Drive gearbox. Easy to use, and doesn’t suffer the power loss of an Autopower.
Very comfortable cab, with switches and dials well laid out on Command Arm
Good lift capacity
Can get some good ballast on it to get the power down well
As with the 8 series the only negative is that it could do with a really heavier duty pick-up hitch option.

S Series John Deere S690i c/w Premium Flow Header 2012 (February 03, 2014)
Good output, with good power level. Good spread of chaff and straw over full cutting width
Excellent crop feeding with PF header, especially on short crops such as S Barley
Direct drive tracks were excellent in wet harvest of 2012, and give a steady platform for header to work
Cab is very spacious with a really good sized fridge
Fuel consumption OK, but obviously depends of weight of crop
Been very reliable in 2 years of running it. Good back-up when things have gone wrong
Needs better method of calculating yield, as it is difficult to calibrate, and seems to go out of calibration easily.
