Pearl is a widely used two-row winter malting barley with full IBD approval for brewing and a high specific weight. It has stiff straw and a good all round disease resistance. Pearl is recommmended by the HGCA, SAC and has been fully approved for brewing by the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD)

• Growth Habits

Pearl has good all-round disease resistance which may make it possible for savings to be made in fungicide costs, although net blotch may require attention. Autumn sprays are rarely economic.
